IDIQ Contract Awarded by Fluor-B&W Portsmouth (FBP)
On October 12, 2012, Fluor B&W Portsmouth LLC (FBP) awarded one of four prime site-wide IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contracts to HukariAscendent for Contract Labor Support Services at the Portsmouth site. HukariAscendent won two awards: one as a prime and the other teamed with a large business. The contracts have three one-year Option periods. HukariAscendenthas opened a local office in Piketon, Ohio and will provide a coordinated staff augmentation support to FBP’s decontamination and decommissioning contract at Portsmouth. This scope of work includes a broad range of resource categories including: Technical; Engineering; Waste Management; and Nuclear Safety and Operations Support. HukariAscendentwill support FBP in regulatory planning and implementation, environmental remediation, facility surveillance and monitoring, D&D, waste management, environmental safety & health, quality, nuclear safety, engineering, planning, and site-wide integration.
Contracts Awarded by CH2M-WH Idaho, LLC (CWI)
In September 2012, CH2M-WG Idaho, LLC (CWI) awarded HukariAscendent with two contracts to provide support services for the Idaho Cleanup Project at the Idaho National Laboratory. One contract is for administrative, engineering, professional, and technical services and the second contract is for nuclear and criticality safety analyst support services. The contracts are for FY13-FY15 with three-one year Option periods. HukariAscendent previously maintained these contracts.

The MSA Team includes Lockheed Martin, Jacobs, and Wackenhut Services. The Mentor-Protégé Program is the pre-eminent Federal program for the transformation of a small business with high potential to a firm that can perform well as a prime contractor or subcontractor.
Mission Support Alliance (MSA) is the cornerstone of a multi-contract structure at the Hanford Site, collaborating with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and all Hanford Site contractors to move the mission forward - finding and implementing new, cost saving and safe solutions to cleanup challenges. MSA provides quality infrastructure and sitewide services - always with a focus on implementing new technologies that reduce costs, reduce energy consumption, and safely and effectively satisfy the needs of the cleanup contractors.

HukariAscendent Named DOE's Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year
At an award ceremony held at the Forrestal Building in Washington, DC, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced that HukariAscendent has been selected as its 2011 Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) of the Year. This award recognizes the exceptional performance of a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business directly facilitating the advancement of core DOE mission objectives and requirements.
HukariAscendent was nominated for this distinction by Los Alamos National Security (LANS) in recognition of our significant contributions in advancing DOE’s mission success. The company has continuously supported multiple nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and programs at Los Alamos National Laboratory since 2003.

Ascendent Receives Second U.S. Small Business Administration Award
Ascendent Engineering & Safety Solutions, LLC was once again nominated by a DOE Prime Contractor as Small Business Subcontractor of the Year. Since January 2007, Ascendent has been providing specialists in Engineering, Design, and Safety for work on the MOX Project in Aiken, SC. On May 25, 2010 in recognition of outstanding contribution and service to Shaw AREVA MOX Services in satisfying the needs of the Federal procurement system, Ascendent was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) with the “Administrators Award for Excellence”. This is the second time in two years that Ascendent has received this significant business recognition.
