The Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. The management and operating contract is held by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS).  SRNS is responsible for three key mission areas at SRS: environmental cleanup, operation of the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) activities.

On September 3, 2009, HukariAscendent (previously Ascendent, LLC) was awarded a 5-year Indefinite Quantity contract by SRNS to provide nuclear safety and criticality safety staff augmentation support, and to perform defined nuclear and criticality safety tasks to support management and operation of SRS.

Under this contract, HukariAscendent performed:

  • Nuclear Safety Analysis,
  • Nuclear Criticality Safety Analysis,
  • Hazards Analysis,
  • Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Screening and Evaluation,
  • Safety Assessments
  • Developed Documented Safety Analyses, and
  • Developed Technical Safety Requirements.

Since 2009, HukariAscendent has been awarded multiple contracts to support nuclear safety activities.  In 2016, our support expanded to include the Commercial Grade Dedication program.

HukariAscendent staff has supported all of three SRS mission areas.
