There are various levels of Electrical Engineer positions that we provide for at our clients across the country. A sample of the responsibilities for these positions is provided below.   • Responsible for engineering analysis, construction support, walkdowns and design development.
  • Generate design output documents including, but not limited to: Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications; Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection; Short Circuit Calculations; Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis; Load Flow Analysis; and Electrical System Sizing Calculations.
  • Plan and schedule engineering efforts associated with assigned projects.
  • Maintain timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.
  • Keep proper engineering files and records.
  • Understand and use industry cods and standards and computer software and applications associated with engineering assignments.
  • Express ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others.
  • Have experience with evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, having used independent judgment in performing calculations, modifications and designs and ability to present and justify modification packages to quality and safety reviews.
  • Perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects.
  • Perform power system studies including short circuit and arc flash analyses.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
  • Inspect and accept electrical installations.
  • Interface and work with equipment vendors as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work.
  • Receive guidance, when necessary, on unconventional and/or complex problems, direction on modified techniques and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
  • Work well independently and on teams.
  • Possess all the skills required for Electrical Engineer.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on electrical codes and standards.
  • Possesses superior technical knowledge of electrical discipline and can work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions, propose modifications and develop design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Have experience in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data prepared by other engineers.
  • Provide oversight and technical guidance on electrical designs.
  • Perform walk downs and constructability reviews of proposed installation and modification designs.
  • Perform material take off for installations and modifications.
  • Procure construction field material for installations and modifications.
  • Develop work instructions and work plans for installations and modifications.
  • Perform job hazards analysis for installations and modifications.
  • Provide oversight and inspection of field installation and modification activities.
  • Perform post installation and modification evaluation to ensure completed work meets applicable design, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Develop as-built drawings of piping systems.
  • Provide support of post installation and modification testing activities.
  • Facilitate resolution of installation, schedule and technical issues which requires significant interface with multiple organizations including Construction Management, Subcontract Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Operating Facility Systems Engineering, and Operating Facility Management.
  • Resolve issues which often requires the Senior Construction Engineer to exercise discretion and independent judgment to determine the appropriate path forward after various possibilities have been considered.
