Congratulations to Chris Burke for being the winner of our June Hawaiian Shirt contest!

How long have you been with HAI? Over 2 1/2 years now.

Tell us a little about your career journey. I got my start in Mechanical Design over 40 years ago, graduating from Johnson College in Scranton, PA. I started as a Jr Drafter detailing boiler tubing for Foster Wheeler. I hit the nuclear trail in 1982, which took me to 3 different nuclear projects, working as a field engineer in Cincinnati, OH; Syracuse, NY and Fort Worth, TX. In 1992, I took an opportunity that brought me and my wife Sharon to the Augusta, GA area, working for Jacobs Engineering at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. Sharon and I started and raised our family here in the Augusta area. We have been blessed with 3 children. Corey, Ryan and Abigail. I have been working here at SRS over the last 30 years as a Sr Designer, Piping Group Lead, 3D Plant Designer and a Managing Designer, working for major engineering firms such as Jacobs, Raytheon, General Physics, Bechtel & CB&I.

What is your proudest career achievement? Making a contribution to the completion of 3 nuclear power facilities in our great country. On a personal note, Sharon and I are the proud parents of 2 BSA Eagle Scouts and our daughter Abby is a GSA Gold Award winner. All 3 of our children achieving the highest honor in Scouting.
